With all the options the internet has to offer, what is a hobbit bride looking for a special dress supposed to do?? Let's not even talk about the minimum costs at bridal shops! My mother generously offered me her dress from 1987, sitting in a box in various closets since before I was born. What an honor! What a relief! What heart-warming sentiment!

I am overjoyed to have this connection with her.

Hobbits don't have videotape, but they do have cameras (apparently)! Here's a website creation of our wedding ceremony -- in case you weren't there, a wizard cast a spell on your memory, or, let's be honest, you're the bride/groom.

Script and official officiating by the inimitable Paul McColgan, long-time friend of the couple.

Do they say "I do"??? Let's find out.

Everything was beautiful and perfect and full of heart; our only regret is that there was not enough time to visit with all you lovely folk and that we cannot thank you enough. Now, everyone has returned home (or at least have left these parts), takedown has had great progress, and we prepare for our honeymoon.

We hope you forgive our continued self-indulgence, but watch this space for ongoing updates about the event! Including photographic content. In case you didn't hear them at the time (it was a bit of a blur for us!), we've included below the vows we wrote collaboratively.

They're in iambic heptameter quatrains, just to be that much extra.

It's hard to believe there's less than a week to go. Over the past year or so we've worked on so many different things for this wedding. We, along with a few top wedding professionals are very excited to finally share it all with you good folks out there. Over this last weekend we've moved most of our supplies up to the venue and officially started setting up. There's still more to move but fortunately the venue is only about 45 minutes from our house so our migration much easier than when the Harfoots, Fallohides, and Stoors moved over the Misty Mountains out of the Vales of Anduin and into the region of Eriador that would later be known as The Shire.

So that's good.

It's down to forty days out from the big day and everything's really starting to come together. This weekend we went shopping and bought what wine-sales professionals told us was "enough wine" but sort of seems like "a lot of wine" but we certainly didn't want to get "not enough wine".

Worst case, some of you might have to take some wine home with you.

People like a photo booth at a wedding, right? Well lets get rid of the booth and replace it with a little Hollywood magic! For your picture taking enjoyment, I have constructed a contrivance by which two people can sit at a table one one of them will appear normal-sized while the other will seem to become hobbit-sized as demonstrated in this entirely unedited picture.

"There are many magic rings in this world, Bilbo Baggins, and none of them should be used lightly," is how Gandalf admonishes Bilbo for using the One Ring to pull a prank at his own birthday party.

Our rings might not be actually, literally magic, but we think they're pretty neat.

Though my name recalls possible French gardeners in my ancestry, though I have high aspirations of flourishing home & community gardens, though I love all things green and growing -- I will freely admit I'm no Samwise Gamgee, greatest little gardener of them all. (Not yet anyway!)

When it comes to DIY craft projects however...

You may be wondering what all that chicken scratch on this card says. The learned among you will recognize it as elvish.

Let me tell you what it says.

So you've found the website and you might be wondering "Why 'Middle Georgia Wedding Hoop'?" The answer might surprise you.

It probably won't, but it might.
