Yes to the Dress

Trying to find a special dress is more overwhelming than ever. With all the options the modern internet has to offer, what is a hobbit bride supposed to do?? Let's not even talk about the minimum costs at bridal shops! I was so touched that my mother generously offered me her dress from 1987, which had been in a box in various closets since before I was born. What an honor! What a relief! What heart-warming sentiment! With my parents' marriage now at 37 years and counting, what good luck for us! I am overjoyed to have this connection with her.

Hemmed it up off the ground
Cut off of most of the train
Took off sleeves & gauze up to neck
Inserted structure & corset back to widen the bodice
Added crinoline underskirt
Made little poofy illusion sleeves
Getting ready! It took a team to lace up the back.
