Now It's a Party
3-6-2023
It's down to forty days out from the big day and everything's really starting to come together. This weekend we went shopping and bought what wine-sales professionals told us was "enough wine" but sort of seems like "a lot of wine" but we certainly didn't want to get "not enough wine".
Worst case, some of you might have to take some wine home with you.
Through careful negotiations (just asking) we have reached an agreement with Monk's Meadery in Atlanta for our wedding to feature their Bacchus Blushed mead, a favorite of the Georgia Renaissance Festival. There will also be a selection of beers, cider, et cetera, as well as several equally exciting non-alcoholic options, the details of which are still being hammered out by the drinksmith (caterer).
Speaking of the Georgia Renaissance Festival, it just happens to be opening the same weekend as our wedding and only about an hour away in Fairburn, Georgia. So if your going to be in the area and, I don't know, just maybe have a cool costume that you'd like to get some extra mileage out of, consider checking it out. My advice would be to go on Sunday rather than Saturday, you have a wedding to attend.
RSVPs continue to stream in. It's been quite enjoyable seeing how all of you have filled out your cards. The count of adverbs ending in "-ly" heavily favors "joyfully/joyously", which is a good choice. Some of you have gone for real word-a-day calendar type words. You know who you are, and you have my enthusiastic contrafibularities. At the same time, there is no shame at all in sending in a blank card. Anyone who has planned a wedding will tell you that any RSVP is a good RSVP. If you are somehow in the class of people who are reading this website but haven't RSVP'd yet, let me remind you that you can do so via email to RSVP@middlegeorgiaweddinghoop.com. Also feel free to RSVP by email for expediency and then send the card later if you feel like it.
Tornado damage, Jess for scale. The actual yard looks much nicer.
Finally, I wish also to offer my continued gratitude to my family, as I will also do in person and to anyone that will listen to me. My parents were already very generous in allowing us to hold our wedding and reception at their house in Jackson, but lately they and my brother have spent most of their weekends working to recover from the recent tornado damage. Thank you very much, the place looks great, it's going to be fantastic.
Keep checking this space for further updates. See you all soon!
